About the Motto

This motto was selected for St James College in 2004, as we believe it reflects the qualities and attitudes we wish to see reflected in the actions of all members of the school community.

The message of our motto is reflected in the St James College House Names. Each of the college's four houses is named after an Australian born Nobel prize-winner. Individuals who have shown leadership and excellence in their chosen fields on the international stage.

Leadership

• for students within the school community in roles such as captains and house prefects, heading formal committees etc
• by staff of the college who provide models of leadership by which students may learn

Excellence

• students putting in effort and being the best that they can be to achieve goals in their studies or personal growth
• staff presenting the best service possible to students
