Graduation CeremonyGraduation Day is one of the most important days in a student's life and at St James College is given all the pomp and circumstance you would expect for such an occasion. The Academic Advisory Board gathers with Management and staff dressed in their appropriate academic gowns. Year 12 Certificates are presented to students by the Chairman of the Academic Advisory Board, Professor, Gus Guthrie. All students are required to wear smart business attire for this milestone, - a day when students and their family and friends can celebrate the completion of two years' study before the beginning of a new phase - perhaps a degree at University or a new job in the adult world. ![]()
Formal Dinner & DanceThe St James College Formal is a traditional event planned to coincide with Graduation Day. Year 11 and Year 12 students dress in party clothes and attend a dinner/dance evening at a Sydney venue. A sit down meal is served along with soft drinks and students can relax and dance the evening away. It is a fun evening for everyone and some of the staff even have the opportunity to leave the books behind and get on the dance floor! A Student Formal Committee is formed in the middle of the year and meets regularly to plan the event so the evening is enjoyable for everyone. Joining the Committee is a fun experience and develops skills in group work and planning.
