About the Camp

Many Senior High Schools in Sydney hold a Year 11 Camp and St James College is no exception. The camp, which runs for four and a half days, is a great learning experience for students and is a real Australian High School experience. It is also an opportunity to get to know one another in a very relaxed, fun atmosphere and form new friendships. The Year 11 Camp has proved to be a valuable opportunity for staff to get to know the new students and help them settle into their new life in Australia.

What do Student's Learn?

In addition to meeting all their new classmates, students participate in a wide range of sporting activities and can experience the great outdoor life enjoyed by many Australians. They also learn the value of group activity as well as relying on their own skills and personal strengths to complete individual activities. Past camps have included bushwalking, boating and abseiling usually topped off with a traditional campfire in the evening.
